Is there a way to turn this off outside of the MyFios app? When I press the home network protection button, it says "The router is currently unavailable. Please try again later." It's been like this for the last 2 days and I can't change the parental settings. I tried to view my Verizon settings via the web and it says "We see that there is an option to protect the home network. Please use your MyFios app to manage all devices and control your device. Parents on your home system. All controls on this website are disabled." This is disappointing.
I think the router used a previous firmware backup and restored it after mcafee was installed.
The fix is pretty simple. Log into the Fios app on your phone. Go to security settings. Wait about 10 seconds. The Protect Home Network option will appear. Turn it off. That's it!!!
Right here. I was hoping to disable/enable my home gateway router but to no avail. I was also hoping something would happen on Verizon's end and the network would magically come back, but it's been about 4 days. Has anyone found a solution to this problem? When I accidentally activated this Home Network Protection when I updated my device, it locked me out of being able to change any devices. Home network protection cannot be turned off. Help/Support did not help. They just keep going around in circles. It starts with protecting your home network and if you want to shut it down, they don't have a solution. Tell them they haven't heard of the problem. This is a lie from the forum.
You can turn off home system protection by going to 'accounts and settings' and then 'security settings' in the app. There is an option to turn it off.

I've tried going into the security settings to turn off "home network protection" but it just has a constant download loop and never stops. The button to disable is grayed out. I'm so sad!!!!!
