"I want to thank our community members and the local, state and federal officials who have been so supportive since our inception several years ago," said BETA Founder and CEO Kyle Clark. We look forward to growing together in our home state of Vermont. Burlington and all of Vermont are full of incredible engineering talent that will help us build the smartest and safest electric aircraft in the industry, while staying true to our commitment to a lifetime commitment to cycling sustainability while making a positive impact in our communities."

After receiving state and local approvals, BETA hopes to begin construction on a 270,000-square-foot state-of-the-art final assembly facility as early as September of this year. Located off Valley Road, next to the company's headquarters at KBTV, it will include office space, research and development and manufacturing facilities.

The facility will implement the latest sustainability and environmental strategies, from daylighting and natural ventilation to geothermal heating and cooling, on-site solar systems with battery storage, greywater recycling and stormwater treatment and management. The building will emphasize energy efficiency, reduce its impact on the environment, and incorporate community and green outdoor spaces to engage the public.

The ALIA electric aircraft produced by BETA is the first zero-emission aircraft of its kind. As such, ALIA contributes significantly to its partners' efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provides them with an effective alternative to their current fleet. BETA customers value sustainability throughout the entire life cycle, from production to end of life. With flights of 250 nautical miles, ALIA can carry six people or up to 1,500 lbs in a large cargo hold and has point-to-point operational capabilities that increase efficiency and reduce negative environmental impact. Also 10 times quieter than a helicopter.
